This is the first post of our new series, Members in the Community! Our members are passionate about the community, and are always seeking out opportunities to get involved and give back. We love seeing pictures of our members out and about, and want to share their impact. We hope these stories inspire you!

Jessica Rivera Allstate – Byron Saunders Foundation

As of 2019, I am the Delaware Chapter President for the Byron Saunders Foundation.  Our goal was to feed 50 families at Thanksgiving in the Delaware County area.  With the help of multiple small businesses and individuals doing food drives and collecting donations we were able to serve 150 families around the area and donate 1,000 pounds of food to the local Food Pantry!  We used my Allstate office as the central location for everything, which we quickly outgrew with the outpouring of food donations.  We had volunteers and board members come in, drop off donations, sort and inventory food, box the meals and then deliver the majority of the meals directly to the families.  As an organization, Byron Saunders Foundation feed 4,498 families around central Ohio!

DoGooder – Purple Stride

On September 29th at the McFerson Commons Park, DoGooder participated in a Purple Stride walk in benefit of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The event is chaired by DoGooder Jamie Foltz. There was an amazing turn out with 2,000+ participants in the 5k and 1 mile walk. Of those 2,000, 34 were Survivors. A total of $311k was raised!

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) is dedicated to fighting the world’s toughest cancer. In our urgent mission to save lives, we attack pancreatic cancer on all fronts: research, clinical initiatives, patient services and advocacy. Our effort is amplified by a nationwide network of grassroots support. We are determined to improve patient outcomes today and double pancreatic cancer survival.

They’re looking forward to the next event  in 2020 which will be on Sept 27th.

Libertas – Pelatonia Sponorship  

Libertas Wealth is a proud sponsor of Pelotonia riders.  Since 2009, we have been honored to support clients, family & friends in their fundraising efforts for cancer research.  This year, we decided to not only sponsor the ride with a monetary donation, but also to sponsor our client’s apparel!  Steven Huff, an 11 year veteran of the Pelotonia wore a Libertas Wealth Management biking shirt on his Columbus to Gambier route.

We are privileged to know so many awesome individuals who make the commitment to riding each year and to fundraising for this incredible organization.  We are blessed to be part of all of their journeys!
