It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year...
Recap: Holiday Community Service Day & Happy Hour
Last week’s 2021 Holiday Community Service Day & Happy Hour was a blast!
It was a rainy day at the Lausche Building in Columbus, but our team of volunteers didn’t mind! We threw on our red aprons went straight to work. Whether we were connecting with families as they shopped for toys to put under their tree, unloading frozen turkeys and handing out meals to families, or running carts full of food & toys out to their cars in the rain, each role was significant and made an impact. Smiles and seasons greetings were exchanged, and we enjoyed making friends with other volunteers from our community as well!
Once again, the Salvation Army’s Christmas Cheer program was such an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. Just as much as volunteers made an impact on the families we served, families left an impression and impact on our hearts as they shared stories, gratitude, and holiday wishes. So many Central Ohio families have struggled through this past year; it was truly a blessing to have an opportunity to brighten their holiday.
Thank you to all our members and volunteers who were able to come out and help spread a little cheer this holiday season. It was great to see so many familiar faces, and exciting to see all the new faces, too.
Afterwards, we decked the halls of COhatch Polaris at the ugly sweater edition of our Networking Happy Hour. Thank you to COhatch, Wright-Patt Credit Union, and Ahola for sponsoring our festive event and providing an amazing spread of treats, drinks. Way to show up with your ugly Christmas sweaters, SBC! Everyone looked fantastic. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate our members and volunteers in 2022!
Looking Forward to 2022
To our Members: We look forward to seeing you again and can’t wait to share the amazing calendar of events we have planned in 2022! Stick around and stay tuned!
To those thinking of joining SBC: There’s still time to join in 2021! The $250 to join is currently going towards our 2021 scholarship fund.
Once again, thank you to everyone who came out last week! We look forward to seeing everyone next year! Stay safe and healthy, and help others do the same by masking up this holiday season. Wishing you and yours a warm & merry holiday season, and a very happy New Year.
