Recap: Nonprofit Appreciation Week 2021

The 2nd annual Nonprofit Appreciation Week shined a spotlight on 17 Central Ohio nonprofits.

Nonprofit Appreciation Week, presented by Small Biz Cares and the Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio, provided a way for local nonprofits to connect and engage with the community through virtual events highlighting multiple nonprofits in various sectors. We capped off the week with the Stomp Out Hunger Virtual Walkathon fundraiser, raising $2,500 for a community fridge site for Fund-a-Fridge.

Nonprofit Appreciation Week Panel Session: Bridging the Gap

NPAW featured daily presentations from a panel of leaders from Central Ohio Nonprofits. Speakers shared the mission of their nonprofit, how COVID has impacted them, how their nonprofit has adapted, and how you can support them. This year, we chose to focus on 4 key themes surrounding some of our most pressing causes over the last 2 years.

How to Support These Nonprofits

Despite sharp increases in the number of families struggling, moratoriums and federal aid have come to an end– our nonprofits are more important now than ever and are working hard to meet the needs of the community. The economic impact of COVID has affected us all and our Central Ohio Nonprofits are no exception. Though in-person events have returned, the nonprofit sector is seeing stark deficits in attendance and fundraising, but continue to try and fill in the gaps for struggling families. During this season of giving, we hope you’ll consider contributing to one of the many amazing nonprofits in Central Ohio.

Donations are a great way to support your nonprofit community, but they can use your help in other ways, too. Many have volunteer opportunities as well. We wanted to make it easy to learn more and contribute financially to the 17 organizations featured this year with the help of our NPAW Giving Page. There you will find each of our Central Ohio nonprofit partners- not just those from Nonprofit Week. Click “Learn More” to be directed to the website of the nonprofit to learn more, or click “Donate” to donate directly to the nonprofit via their website donation page. Each org website provides a clear mission statement, how the nonprofit uses its resources, and information on how you can help.
