 JOB TITLE: Director of Community Engagement

Location: Westerville OH (Columbus area)

Description

This is an exciting opportunity for the candidate that is looking to lead and make a meaningful impact in the community. The successful candidate will have a clear path to advanced leadership within Small Biz Cares. This role is unique in that it provides overall leadership of programs and growth efforts for Small Biz Cares (80%) in addition to building connections in the community for Outreach Promos (20%). This role reports directly to the Executive Director of Small Biz Cares (also the CEO of Outreach Promos). The right candidate will have the following characteristics.

1. Experience in marketing and business development 

2. Strong project management skills 

3. A passion for engagement with nonprofits and small businesses 

4. Reliable and a drive for results 

 

Hours: 39 hours per week (can be adjusted depending on candidate) (Summer 4 day workweek, 36 hours/week) 

Hybrid Role: Start In-Office with shift to Hybrid: In-office 50% / remote 50% 

Compensation: Ranges from $40,000 to $60,000 depending on experience and qualifications of candidate

Responsibilities include: 

1. Small Biz Cares (80%) 

a. Events: Lead overall programs and events including planning, logistics and execution 

b. Growth: Drive small business engagement through business development and marketing activities including lead generation, meetings and communication activities 

c. Funding: Assist and lead on funding efforts including donations, sponsorships and other revenue sources 

d. Community: Strengthen partnerships with local business organizations and nonprofits 

e. Marketing: Execute marketing plan including social media, email and in-person activities 

f. Leadership: Provide “Executive-level” leadership by assisting with Board meetings, strategies and overall management of Small Biz Cares 

2. Outreach Promos (20%) 

a. Attend local networking events and tradeshows to strengthen brand and business opportunities 

b. Assist on surge projects as needed 

 

Skills & Qualifications: 

*Experience with Graphic design (Adobe Illustrator) and Web Design (WordPress) platforms preferred 

*Experience with business development and digital marketing (email, social media, google) platforms 

*Bachelors or Associates degree desired OR high school education w/ equivalent experience 

*Comfort with computers and MS Office Suite, primarily with Excel and PowerPoint 

*Strong organization, project management, and communication skills; detail-oriented
