Small Biz Cares Welcomes Newest Board Member Jill Hofmans

  • News

Jill HofmansSmall Biz Cares is excited to welcome our newest Board Member, Jill Hofmans! Jill is the Executive Director of See Kids Dream, a Columbus-based non-profit that partners with Central Ohio elementary schools to facilitate year-long service-learning programs.  She works closely with her dynamic staff and engaged and committed board to fulfill the organization’s mission: to empower youth with the skills, motivation, and confidence to make our world a better place.

She is also the founder of capricho, a consulting firm that also provides meeting facilitation, retreat planning, peer groups, and more. Previously, as Executive Director of the Conway Center for Family Business, she worked closely with over 200 privately held, for-profit businesses. This included developing and facilitating numerous C-Level peer groups, educational program development and delivery, and engaging with business and community leaders throughout Central Ohio.

Jill has worked, volunteered, and held internships in non-profit organizations most of her adult life. It is no surprise, then, that she has a passion for connecting with and serving others. She thrives on interacting with others and is always looking to make an impact and a difference wherever she goes. In her free time, she creates irreverent cross stitch samplers, tries to spend time with her two teenagers before they are completely grown and flown, and enjoys happy hour with clients and friends, especially if the venue makes a well-crafted, dirty vodka martini.

Jill earned her Bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Pitzer College (Claremont, CA) and a Master’s degree (Phi Kappa Phi) in Women’s Studies from San Diego State University.

I want to be part of an organization that works for the greater good and helps others do the same and SBC does just that. The concept is novel but so simple: help business leaders become and remain civically engaged in our communities. I look forward to working with the SBC team to create and execute meaningful opportunities for engagement. I believe my board service can help increase the number of small businesses volunteering and participating in events. I’m excited to leverage my community connections and relationships to increase awareness and engagement for SBC. My many years of non-profit management and corporate fundraising will help ensure that SBC is not only sustainable but thrives well into the future.
