Join Small Biz Cares for one of our favorite annual traditions…an afternoon of networking, community impact, and blanket-making for children in foster care.

We’re excited to once again partner with the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce for the annual Bourbon, Brews & Blankets Challenge at Zaftig Brewing Company & Taproom, proudly sponsored by Outreach Promos.

On September 24 from 4:00–8:00 PM, local businesses, community leaders, and volunteers from across Central Ohio will come together with one goal: creating as many no-sew fleece blankets as possible for Ohio youth in foster care for My Very Own Blanket.

Whether you’re attending solo or bringing your entire team, this unique happy hour combines networking, team building, and meaningful service—all in one event.

The Challenge

Each $20 registration includes a complete blanket kit and all necessary supplies. Volunteers from My Very Own Blanket will be onsite to guide participants through the simple no-sew blanket-making process.

Want to make an even bigger impact? Additional blanket kits can be purchased in advance so you can create extra blankets or sponsor a blanket project. Any unfinished kits will be completed and donated on your behalf by residents at a local senior living community, turning one act of kindness into a multi-generational effort.

The Power of a Blanket

For children entering foster care, a blanket can be much more than a blanket.

My Very Own Blanket is dedicated to warming the heart of every child in foster care and other children in need by providing handmade blankets that offer comfort, security, and a sense of belonging. Each blanket is created with care by volunteers and distributed to children throughout Ohio and across the country.

Together, we can help ensure that more children receive a tangible reminder that their community cares about them.
